Hyperbaric Chamber Installations: Deployment Scenarios and Layout Planning

Hyperbaric Chamber Installations: Deployment Scenarios and Layout Planning

Most installation problems are decided before the chamber arrives. Doorway widths, floor loading, electrical capacity and session throughput are all knowable in advance — and getting them wrong is expensive to fix afterwards.

The scenarios below are planning outlines drawn from the deployments we support most often. They are intended to help you size the space and plan the logistics, not as claims about specific client outcomes. For model-by-model dimensions, see the product series and the comparison guide.

Scenario 1: private home

Typically a single-occupant chamber such as the AURA One, installed in a spare room, garage conversion or dedicated wellness space.

Planning item Typical requirement
Model Single-occupant, 1.1–1.7 atm
Floor space Roughly the chamber footprint plus clearance on the door side and at the head end
Floor loading Confirm the room can carry the unit weight plus occupant; check joist direction in timber floors
Power Standard household circuit in most regions; a dedicated circuit is recommended
Access Measure the narrowest doorway and any stair turn — this is the most common failure point
Sessions One user at a time, typically 45–60 minutes

Scenario 2: spa or beauty clinic

A single-occupant chamber such as the LUMINA One, positioned so it reads as a premium service rather than clinical equipment.

  • Throughput — a 5–15 minute pressurisation cycle means faster turnaround between clients than most operators expect.
  • Placement — clients prefer a room that feels calm; lighting and acoustic separation matter more than raw floor area.
  • Staffing — one trained operator can supervise a session while running other treatments.
  • Route — plan the client path from changing area to chamber so it does not cross busy corridors.

Scenario 3: sports and performance facility

Usually a dual-occupant unit such as the TITAN Duo, scheduled around training and match days.

  • Capacity — two athletes per session roughly doubles throughput at peak times.
  • Duty cycle — back-to-back sessions are realistic; confirm the pressurisation schedule suits your timetable.
  • Location — near the recovery or physio area so it sits inside the existing athlete routine.
  • Scheduling — squads often book in blocks rather than ad hoc; size the booking system accordingly.

Scenario 4: clinic or rehabilitation centre

Typically the POLARIS Duo or TITAN Duo, specified for continuous daily commercial duty.

Planning item Typical requirement
Duty cycle Continuous daily operation; specify accordingly
Power Dedicated circuit; verify capacity during site planning
Documentation CE and ISO 13485 documentation for procurement files — see certifications
Room Space for operator monitoring plus emergency access on the door side
Throughput Session length plus press/depress time sets the realistic daily maximum

Scenario 5: high-altitude and remote deployment

Usually the NEPTUNE Flow, selected where the unit needs to be moved or installed in a remote location.

  • Portability — at around 200 kg the unit is far easier to site than a fixed installation.
  • Ambient conditions — check temperature range and ventilation at altitude or in hot climates.
  • Power stability — generator or unstable supply needs assessment before shipping.
  • Altitude — the delivered pressure differential differs from sea-level operation; discuss your site altitude with us.

The five checks before you sign off

  1. Access route — measure every doorway, corridor and stair turn, not just the room.
  2. Floor loading — confirm the structure carries unit plus occupants, especially above ground floor.
  3. Electrical capacity — confirm voltage, frequency, plug type and whether a dedicated circuit is needed.
  4. Ventilation and ambient temperature — chambers and compressors reject heat into the room.
  5. Throughput maths — session length plus pressurisation time, multiplied by opening hours, gives your real daily capacity.

Detailed references and site-specific layout drawings are available on request. Tell us the room dimensions, floor type, available power and intended session volume, and we will confirm which model fits before you commit.
